At TezKhabari, we are committed to publishing accurate information across all of our content. We take several steps to ensure accuracy: we investigate claims with skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
- Commitment to Accuracy
We are dedicated to achieving due accuracy in all our output. This commitment is central to our reputation and the trust of our audience. The term “due” means that accuracy must be appropriate to the content, subject, and nature of the story. We explicitly mention any constraints that may influence our expectations of accuracy. - Our Standards for Accuracy
All our content must be well-sourced, based on available evidence, and corroborated. We aim to be honest and transparent about what we don’t know, avoiding unfounded speculation. - No Plagiarism or Distortion
Our journalists never plagiarize or distort facts or context, including visual information, knowingly. - Independent Verification
We seek independent verification from trusted sources to confirm claims, information, and allegations, especially those made by public officials or others with agendas. Claims and content that cannot be corroborated are clearly attributed. - Corrections and Accountability
TezKhabari stands by the information it publishes and considers it to be accurate. If proven otherwise, we will correct the news item as quickly as possible. We do not knowingly mislead our audience or distort facts. Any significant factual errors will be acknowledged and corrected promptly. - Reporting Inaccuracies
We provide a fair opportunity for the public to report any inaccuracies or errors in our reporting via the ‘Suggest A Correction’ section at the end of every web story. - Editorial Review Process
Journalists are responsible for reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories, which are subject to review by one or more editors. TezKhabari has a multi-level fact-checking structure for stories requiring due diligence, with the seniority of editors varying based on the story’s complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.
Correction Policies
TezKhabari strives for excellence and accuracy, but we acknowledge that errors may occasionally occur. When errors are made, we take responsibility for correcting them and maintain a high level of transparency to ensure that incorrect information does not spread. Below are the steps to ensure accuracy, transparency, and excellence:
READERS:
If you spot an error, please contact our Editor-in-Chief, Emilee Wentland, immediately by email, phone, or mail.
Email: contact@tezkhabari.com
Subject: Correction Needed
Corrections are only officially submitted when sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief. Submissions to other staff members may not be addressed in a timely manner.
When submitting a correction, please include the following:
- The correction or clarification.
- The issue date or article number.
- The location where the error appeared (print, online, etc.).
- Your name and contact information (phone or email).
- The correct information, with sources when possible.
Once submitted, the Editor-in-Chief will respond to the reader and may contact them for clarification if needed. While submitting a correction ensures an investigation, it does not guarantee a correction will be issued.
TEZKHABARI:
Upon receiving a correction request, the Editor-in-Chief will investigate using the information provided by the reader, meeting minutes, reporter’s recordings, and other relevant sources.
If an error is found, the correction will be made across all platforms where the incorrect information was shared:
- Print: The correction will be published on page 2A in the next issue, with the incorrect information and the corrected version.
- TezKhabari Website: The article will be updated, and an editor’s note will be added at the bottom of the article, detailing what was corrected and when the change was made.
- Social Media: Any posts related to the incorrect article will be updated, with a link to the corrected version and a note explaining the change.
Once the correction is made, the Editor-in-Chief will contact the reader who submitted the correction to inform them of the actions taken.
